September 2008
Messy and mediocre Linux security book.
I will probably take a lot of heat for this, so let me start by putting on my asbestos suit.

[I wanted to post this on Amazon.com, but since I usually buy from Amazon.co.uk to avoid additional shipping charges, they won't let me -- could you please add my thoughts there too, if you don't mind? thanks;) M.I.]
Interesting comments, thanks!
I don't feel like discussing your whole review although I do agree on some points you made, I disagree on some others -- but these are just personal opinions;). Instead, I just want to point out two wrong claims you made:
1) I didn't write the X.25 chapter, but the VoIP one (by the way, glad you liked it!)
2) If it may be true that 25 pages in a book like HEL are probably too much for such an old/obscure technology, I feel compelled to point out that actually most X.25 networks are still there and are used to carry particularly critical information. Believe it or not, as of 2008 I'm personally still performing security audits on them, mostly for banks, credit card companies, and financial institutions.
Just my $0.02,
